Looking for a quilt to be basted for you to quilt on your domestic machine? We can do that for you.
Prepare your Quilt Top for the Long Arm
Check your quilt top to make sure it is nicely pressed and the seams are flat. A light sizing can be used, not required.
If there is fullness in the center or wavy borders your quilt may wind up with tucks or puckers. We do our best to ease such problems as we quilt, but cannot guarantee that all the fullness can be worked out.
To avoid having wavy borders or tucks be sure your borders fit your quilt.
Measure through the middle for length, cutting your border that length, sewing them on the quilt. Repeat for the width, measuring through the center and cutting your border to width and then sewing on.
Prepare the Backing for the Long Arm
The backing should be cotton fabric, if you piece yardage together, use a 5/8" seam to piece the backing, cutting off the selvage edges. Press the seam open.
The backing should be 6" longer and 6" wider than the top. Making 3" extra on each side.
